Enjoy life in every season

Yoga therapy is based on a branch of traditional Chinese medicine called 5-element theory. This theory describes the seasons as elements that relate to particular organs and meridians in the body.

  • Fire relates to summer

  • Metal to autumn

  • Water to winter

  • Wood to spring

  • Earth to late summer and the transitions between seasons.

If there is an imbalance in any of these elements, its symptoms will show up most strongly in that element’s season. For example, Fire is the element of summer and relates to the heart, so heart problems are often worse in summer.

Yoga therapy is a powerful tool that corrects imbalances in the body by targeting specific organs and their meridians and tissues. With yoga therapy, you can restore the body to full function so that you don’t feel the cold or get aches and pains in winter, you don’t feel overly affected by the heat or humidity in summer, and you don’t mind whether it’s raining and windy, or hot and sunny. All seasons, all weather and all times of day and night are enjoyable when the body is strong, healthy and balanced.
